嘉慶 Large Early 19th C Bean Red Bowl

A large deep heavily potted early 19th C bowl with a wide flanged rim covered entirely in a thick "bean red" glaze, thinning from the rim edge exposing the white glaze beneath and pooling in a thick layer at the base and in some areas showing evidence of over-running the foot. The glaze is mottled with darker areas in red tones like the skin of red beans, hence the name. The concave base is glazed white showing numerous burst glaze bubbles and the foot rim is rough in some areas where it adhered to the kiln floor.
